'So we lose the Maldives, that's ok' - Julia Hartley-Brewer debates climate change with Green Party's Baroness Jones

'So we lose the Maldives, we can live with that' - Julia Hartley-Brewer clashes with Baroness Jenny Jones over climate change

2016 could be the hottest year on record

Tuesday, November 15, 2016

Climate change is happening and we've got to be worried about it as "life is going to become less pleasant," according to Baroness Jenny Jones.

Preliminary data has shown that 2016 is likely to be the hottest year on record. Scientists say they are 90% certain the year will pass the previous mark, set by 2015.

Baroness Jones, a member of the Green Party, told Julia Hartley-Brewer that she believes "virtually every single scientist in the world who knows about these things will say that climate change is happening."

She also thinks we've got to be worried "because what we’ve done to the planet is creating all sorts of repercussions."

However Julia claimed "there’s no evidence that when the earth warms human beings do worse," and suggested that even if "we lose the Maldives, we can live with that."
