Ann Widdecombe has warned Jeremy Corbyn to be careful when he appears on Gogglebox as he needs to maintain his dignity.
The Labour leader is to appear in a special edition of Gogglebox to raise money for Stand up to Cancer next week. It is thought he will be watching with another celebrity, who is yet to be revealed.
But former Conservative MP and star of Strictly Come Dancing Ann Widdecombe has warned Corbyn by telling him he "should be careful" when recording the show.
She told Sam Delaney: "If you're the Leader of the Opposition you do have a certain dignity to maintain and he needs to remember that."
Widdecombe thinks appearing on the show "could go either way for" Corbyn as "people could say 'oh look he’s human after all' or they could say 'what a disaster, why doesn’t he get on with the day job'."
However she added that she won't be watching as "television becomes a terrible thief of time because something’s on and everybody's watching it... before you know it you’re spending hours in front of the television."
