Steven Knight has revealed more details about the latest series of Peaky Blinders.
The TV series, which stars hard-hitters like Cillian Murphy, Tom Hardy and Helen McCrory, tells the story of gangsters operating in Birmingham after the First World War, on the verge of the 1920s.
The first episode of its fourth series aired on BBC Two on Wednesday, and Knight - its creator - dropped by the studio to give Paul Ross and Carole Malone an insight into his approach.
He said: "It went well, and the response to this is bigger than we ever had so that's encouraging.
"I didn't want this to be a gritty look at working-class hardships in the 1920s. When I'm working on a project like this, it's a real passion.
"The good thing about the BBC is if they go with the idea and concept, they leave you alone and don't go into the details."
