Police in Sweden have arrested a person who allegedly drove a van into several other vehicles as part of a suspected attempted murder.

The incident took place in Stockholm today (June 13) near the Royal Palace, according to RT.

Police said that the van hit many taxis and then carried on going down the street called Gotgatan, which is one of the longest in central Stockholm.

The vehicle was then abandoned on a different street in Stockholm named Bondegatan.

One person was injured in the incident, however the extent of their injuries is not yet clear.

Anders Bryngelsson, a police spokesperson, has said an investigation is taking place to discover whether the driver intended to cause harm to others with the van.

The van is from a fleet belonging to a courier company named Tjuvgods.se.

The firm says it offers jobs to people who were formerly in prison.
