Shadow foreign secretary Emily Thornberry has claimed Theresa May wants a blank cheque and to be able to do whatever she wants with the country

The Labour election candidate made the comments at The SunTalks Election Special Debate in association with talkRADIO last night (June 1).

Thornberry said: "If you look at Theresa May who's not even prepared to debate, how can we be so confident she is going to be able to negotiate.

"What she wants is a bank cheque, she wants to be able to get rid of all the opposition.

"She wants to be able to do whatever she wants with this country without any form of accountability and we say no."
