John Redwood MP has said he "finds it odd" the Brexit Supreme Court case has to continue after Wednesday's vote in the House of Commons.
Yesterday the Supreme Court's case on the triggering of Article 50 adjourned for deliberations. The president said the 11 justices will decide as quickly as possible whether Theresa May can trigger the start of negotiations with the EU with a royal prerogative, or only with Parliament's consent.
The verdict is expected to be delivered in January. Meanwhile, MPs voted by a majority to trigger Article 50 by the end of March, in line with Theresa May's timetable.
Redwood, the Tory MP for Wokingham, insisted it's strange for the case to continue given that "it's clearly the will of the House of Commons to get on with it."
