A woman in the London suburb of Sutton has been charged with fraud relating to the Grenfell Tower disaster.
Joyce Msokeri, 46, has been charged with six counts of fraud and will appear in custody at Westminster Magistrates Court today (Tuesday 5 September).
Msokeri was arrested on 25 July after posing as a Grenfell Tower survivor and making fraudulent claims for support, according to the Met Police.
The tower caught fire in mid-June, killing around 80 people in a tragedy which shocked the nation. An inquiry has been set up into the disaster.
There have been a number of fraud cases arising from the disaster, with some posing as survivors and relatives to claim money and others offering fake goods and services to those affected.
Anyone with any information about fraud being committed is asked to contact the team investigating the fatal fire at Grenfell Tower on 0800 032 4539.
