Suzanne Evans has told UKIP donor Arron Banks he can't buy the party.
Evans, currently challenging for the leadership of the party, told Julia Hartley-Brewer that while she and her colleagues are "extremely grateful" to Banks for his support, "no political party should allow themselves to be bought. There are greater pricniples at stake here.
"I want to work with donors who share our values. I don't think any donor should think they can just write a large cheque and then dictate."
Appearing live in the talkRADIO studios this morning, Evans, wrote UKIP's 2015 manifesto, told Julia she is completely mystified as to why she has fallen out of favour with the party's figurehead Nigel Farage and insisted she has always backed him, even though sometimes "it's been hard."
She also mapped out her blueprint for UKIP and had some strong words for her detractors.
