Teaching young children to identify with a different gender will cause confusion and is a form of child abuse, according to a director at Christian Concern.

Schools across the country are being sent a guidebook which suggests the term boys and girls should not be used. This is to ensure the children don't discriminate against transgender peers.

Director at Christian Concern Tim Dieppe told Paul Ross: "I don’t think this is going to help anybody, I think it’s going to cause more confusion and disruption.

"This is a sociological experiment that is trying to actually impose an agenda, a particular political agenda onto children. It’s a form of child abuse actually, saying we want to confuse you about your gender.

"What concerns me as well is there’s no evidence at all that this will actually help anyone."
