Police have arrested a 16-year-old boy in West London on suspicion of terrorism offences.
The Metropolitan Police said that officers searched the address just before 10am on Wednesday, August 30.
During the search, cannabis plants were discovered along with an imitation firearm and items containing an unknown substance.
The address is currently cordoned off as specialist officers recover the items, which will be sent for analysis to determine what the substance is.
The boy was initially arrested on suspicion of possession of an imitation firearm and cultivation of cannabis, but was further arrested on on suspicion of commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism under Section 41 of the Terrorism Act 2000.
He is currently in custody at a South London police station, as the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command lead the investigation.
