News of a major traffic shutdown in central London has sent Twitter into overdrive with talk of a whistlestop visit by Donald Trump this week - but those hoping for a visit by the US President are likely to be disappointed.
Transport for London has confirmed that almost all the capital's key transport arteries will be closed from midday to midnight on Wednesday, "due to an event."
Trafalgar Square, Whitehall Place and Pall Mall are among the thoroughfares to be closed to the public. Yet, despite the major disruption this will cause, TfL has not given any specific details of the "event" in question.
Naturally this has prompted a flurry of speculation that Trump, who is currently on a European tour, will be visiting the UK.
However, the real cause is almost certainly a visit by the Spanish royal family, who will be in the UK from July 12-14.
Details of the royal visit, available on the Royal Central website, says the King and Queen of Spain will travel to Horse Guards Parade to receive a ceremonial welcome from the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh, before lunch at Buckingham Palace.
But this certainly hasn't stopped people speculating, as the following Twitter responses show.
