Tommy Robinson has claimed he was approached by a secretive organisation in Scotland Yard to help in "bringing down" Britain First.
The former leader of the English Defence League had been discussing Donald Trump's retweeting of videos posted by the organisation's deputy leader Jayda Fransen when he made the claim.
He told Paul Ross and Carole Malone: "Frankly, there is a massive campaign, I could tell you firsthand.
"When I was in custody, I was approached by a secretive organisation in Scotland Yard called Metropolitan Intelligence Bureau asking me to work for them in bringing down Britain First.
"That is the deep state. We have a democracy, people have the right to express freedom and free speech, and that’s what Britain First do."
He also claimed the furore currently surrounding the US President and Britain First is not on the right focus.
"it shouldn’t be about Britain First, it shouldn’t be about Jayda Fransen. I think it should be about what’s in the videos, the debate.
Do you know when the last terror attack was stopped in Britain? It was two days ago. That’s the problem.
“The whole country’s talking about Donald Trump and Jayda Fransen – we had a terror attack stopped two days ago which was in preparation with weapons by a man in Birmingham and a man in London. Why is that not the topic?
“The president of the free world has brought about a mass debate about what’s going on with Islam in the UK, in Europe."
