Dominic Raab has suggested there's no need for Theresa May to take part in a live debate with Jeremy Corbyn ahead of the General Election - as she debates the Labour leader live on TV every week.

Speaking straight after Prime Minister's Questions, Raab suggested this weekly event provides plenty of opportunity for Mr Corbyn to take on the Prime Minister.

He added that, in the wake of Brexit, Ms May is worried about her message being skewed in the media and wants to get her message across directly to the people.

The Prime Minister's motion for an early general election is widely expected to pass in the Commons today. If granted, the election will be held on June 8.
