Theresa May has reportedly been receiving numerous calls from Cabinet ministers offering their support in the wake of her speech at the Conservative Party Conference.
The Prime Minister’s address at the Manchester event was beset by a series of troubles. May struggled with a coughing fit, a letter fell off the slogan on the wall behind her, and a stage invader handed her a P45, saying it was from Boris Johnson.
The address was billed as make or break, and critics have been quick to attack the Prime Minister over her shambolic delivery, with some likening the speech to an episode of The Thick of It.
Despite this, ministers have been calling the Prime Minister to offer their support.
Sources at Downing Street insisted May was happy with how the speech had gone, and a combination of events had made her voice croaky.
