Brexit is just another party political game, according to a pro-EU British newspaper.
Matthew Kelly, editor of the New European, was speaking to talkRADIO after European Council President Donald Tusk has told the Prime Minister "the ball is now in your court".
When meeting Theresa May at Downing Street, Kelly claimed the 27 European member countries were waiting for Britain to trigger Article 50. Tusk oversaw the UK's EU renegotiation attempts before the referendum, but says they need formal notification to discuss Britain leaving the EU.
Kelly told Julia Hartley-Brewer he doesn't "think Theresa May is that troubled by what Donald Tusk says.
"The truth is they don't know what Brexit means, they're making it up as they go along and they need as much time as possible.
"The rational for doing all of that was all about party politics, and this is what's upsetting to me including a lot of people who voted to leave, is what we're now seeing is another party political game.
"Theresa May for her own political reasons is now dithering to try to unify the Tory party.
"This very important historic event in all of our lives is being twisted and manipulated for party political reasons."
