Boris Johnson has suggested building a bridge between the UK and France, and people are queuing up to ridicule the Foreign Secretary.
Olympic masterplanner Steve Lawrence earlier told us Johnson was "daft as a brush" for suggesting such a huge project. The Channel is 20 miles wide at its narrowest point, so it would be a truly massive undertaking.
But, when you look at some of the mind-boggling bridges elsewhere, Boris's bridge seems quite tame. His overpass might be long, but, compared to some of the other structures you'll find elsewhere in the world, it's not even a particularly complicated project.
We've compiled a selection of some of the world's longest and most spectacular bridges. They might not change your view on Boris or his latest pet project, but they're pretty cool all the same.
