Whoever had the bright idea of launching a petition to throw Scotland out of Britain, this probably wasn't what they had in mind.
The petition demanded a debate on the benefits Scotland gives the UK and a referendum on whether they should be allowed to stay.
Around 5,500 people had signed the petition at the time of writing. But plenty of pro-independence wags mocked the motion on Twitter, saying they'd love for the UK government to 'throw them out'.
The hashtag #throwscotlandout soon began trending on the social media platform, with Scottish secessionists queuing up to say they'd be better off out of the Union.
Whatever your view on the indyref debate, you have to admit this is some high-class trolling from our friends north of the border.
