Journalist Alastair Campbell has said Tony Blair "was very, very close to carrying out what he called the nuclear option" by sacking Gordon Brown, says Alistair Campbell.

Blair's former press secretary visited the talkRADIO studios to talk about his time in Downing Street as part of the promo for his new book Outside, Inside.

Campbell revealed the full extent of the schism between Blair and Brown at the heart of the Labour Party, and the role he played in keeping them together.

He also talked about Ed Balls' role on Strictly, suggesting the former shadow chancellor was living up to his surname by going on the show.
