TV presenter Kate Garraway visited talkRADIO to tell us all about working on Good Morning Britain - including a rather interesting nugget about Tony Blair.
She told showbiz reporter Johnny Seifert that "Tony Blair changed things for ITV breakfast. He sent an email round saying 'our focus is GMTV, not the Today show."
According to Garraway, Blair continued by saying "'anybody listening to the Today programme is already engaged in politics and probably already knows who they’re going to vote for.'"
Garraway believes this was typical of Blair's excellent judgement, and a growing awareness of the media among politicians.
She told Johnny that pPoliticians suddenly realised that actually coming at issues from the point of view of people at home watching, as opposed to directly from their party" meant people would be more likely to listen to what they had to say.
