Tory Brexiteers have refused to back the report produced by their own cross-party Committee for Exiting the European Union.
The report, drafted by committee chair Hilary Benn, urges the Government to prepare for the worst-case scenario on Brexit and demands assessment of the potential economic impacts of crashing out of the EU without a negotiated deal.
However a number of Tory Brexiteers refused to add their names to the report which makes the request.
In fact it has emerged that a number of pro-Brexit Tories left the chamber as the report was being presented, in response to what they perceived as a 'gloomy' assessment.
Minutes of the meeting revealed ire was raised in response to the findings relating to the possibility of leaving the EU with no deal.
