A leading political commentator has said that Trump's revision of transgender guidance rules for schools will create confusion.
The US President's administration revoked guidance for public schools which let transgender students use the toilets of their choice.
The guidlines had been a key intiative which had been brought in under President Obama, who had threatened to withhold funding unless schools let their pupils use the bathroom of their chosen gender.
Karin Robinson, former UK vice-chair of Democrats Abroad, said the move will ensure students won't be aware of their rights in an interview with Julia Hartley-Brewer.
She said: "What I think what is interesting is the Trump administration is creating confusion.
"The Obama memos was to attempt to create a national framework, it was a legal interpretation.
"By rescinding that, the Trump administration’s implementing chaos, it adds to the confusion and disarray where students won’t be aware of their rights."
