Donald Trump has come in for a predictable hammering on Twitter after claims he was 'not briefed' on the executive order he signed to give advisor Steve Bannon a seat on the National Security Council.
It is claimed that Mr Trump was not told the paper he was signing would put the former CEO of right-wing website Breitbart on the committee. The New York Times said this was "a greater source of frustration to the President than the fallout from the travel ban."
Before Trump was elected, Bannon had no previous experience in security, yet was instrumental in the travel ban, The Mirror reported.
Many on Twitter have laid into Mr Trump, claiming he is merely a puppet and Bannon is the power behind the throne.
