Two passengers injured as plane lands in Houston, Texas

Thursday, May 18, 2017

One passenger suffered a heart attack and another sustained a head injury on an incoming Southwest Airlines flight at Hobby Airport in Texas this morning (May 18).

Local media reports a 70-year-old passenger went into possible cardiac arrest, and was receiving CPR when the plane landed.

A 24-year-old woman sustained a head injury, although the Houston Fire Department told local news source the Chron that it didn't know the exact cause of the injury.

HFD has taken both people to a local hospital.

Flight 2333 had originated from Raleigh, North Carolina, and there are no reports of any issues with the journey.

Nonetheless the incident is just the latest in a string of unwelcome incidents on US flights in recent months, most infamously the brutal handling of passenger David Dao, which turned into a PR disaster for United Airlines.
