A university lecturer has gone live on Facebook to share racist voicemails he received after appearing on Fox News.
One woman left University of Maryland lecturer Jason Nichols two voicemails lasting for around four minutes each, according to DBK News.
She said: "This message is for Jason [Nichols]. I've been listening to him on Fox. You know, this f***ing n*****, you n*****s are not going to be satisfied until you change every f***ing piece of s**t holiday to n***** day."
"You people cannot live in a civilized society because you're f***ing primates and you're uncivilized. You know, you people are disgusting. You don't belong here."
African-American studies lecturer Nichols had appeared on Tucker Carlson Tonight to talk about Columbus Day.
He claimed that Christopher Columbus was not a figure who represented American values due to slavery.
Nichols' video has been viewed more than 1.5 million times and has been shared at least 26,000 times.
The lecturer said he wouldn't lie and admitted the abuse did affect him. He explained he usually receives some offensive emails after appearing on Fox News but often asks the office at his university to delete voicemails.
He also revealed that he wanted to share this voicemail in particular as the woman works as a probation officer and said "I wanted to let people know that these people are bankers and law enforcement and parole officers and in many positions of power that can affect people's lives and in some cases destroy them."
