A West Virginia government employee is to be reinstated, despite calling Michelle Obama an "ape in heels," according to reports.
Pamela Taylor, director of the Clay County Development Corporation, was fired in early November for the comment she posted on Facebook.
However after the Charleston Gazette-Mail filed a records request, they discovered that Taylor is due to be reinstated on December 23.
Taylor's post also led to the resignation of Clay Mayor Beverly Whaling, after she commented on the post saying it "just made my day."
A petition was set up at the time calling for Taylor and Whaling to resign, and attracted nearly 1,500 signatories.
Both have since made a public apology.
