Actor Nick Bailey joined Paul Ross in the talkRADIO studios this morning (Tuesday) to talk about his role in Jackie The Musical.
Bailey, best known for his role as Dr. Anthony Trueman in EastEnders, has had a varied career with roles on TV shows such as Casualty and Coronation Street.
Now, in a show which will tour the UK until the end of July, he has taken on the role of Max in the musical, starring opposite Graham Binkley as John and Janet Dibley as the eponymous Jackie.
The musical focuses on the Seventies, with live music entirely made up of hits from the decade.
"It's really clever, it's a universal story," Bailey told Paul. "Jackie is going through a divorce, she's been left by her husband for a younger woman.
"She's feeling a bit low and she wants to feel better about her life. She finds an old Jackie magazine, and she conjures up her younger self.
"In the present day, I meet Jackie and I'm the possible new love interest."
The choreography in the musical was done by Strictly Come Dancing's Arlene Phillips, described as "a legend" by Bailey.
"She's a lovely person," he said. "The team they've assembled for this is second to none.
"The way everyone moves on stage, the way the set pieces look, it's just right."
