America should brace itself for a new "Trumpian" age after the sacking of Secretary of State Rex Tillerson.
That's the view of US politics expert Brian Klaas, who spoke to Julia Hartley-Brewer after Donald Trump removed Tillerson from the role of America's top diplomat.
Klaas told Julia Hartley-Brewer that Tillerson was one of the only remaining people in the White House committed to a moderate foreign policy, evinced by his support for the Iran nuclear deal.
With the former oil executive now out of the picture, Klaas continued, "there may be more Trump in international diplomacy."
However he added that Trump will work better with the new appointee, Mike Pompeo, than he did with Tillerson, so there may be more joined-up thinking in America's foreign office now the change has been made.
Klaas also gave his view on the reasons for Tillerson's sacking, including the much-touted suggestion that he was removed for speaking out on Russia.
