The third victim of the Westminster terror attack has been named as Kurt Cochran.

Cochran, an American citizen, was in London to celebrate his 25th wedding anniversary with his wife, Melissa. The couple were due to fly back to the United States on Thursday before being caught up in Wednesday's events.

The 54-year-old Utah resident was killed when a car was driven by the suspect into pedestrians on Westminster Bridge.

The Daily Mail is reporting he and his wife were the first people to be hit by the car, being positioned on the south side of the bridge just before 2:40.

It is reported that the car knocked Kurt Cochran off the bridge onto a walkway beneath it. Melissa Cochran, 46, was injured in the attack, and was tended to by strangers before being moved to hospital for treatment.

Heartbroken family members confirmed they were caught up in the terror attack and confirmed Kurt Cochran's death.

US President Donald Trump has paid tribute to Kurt Cochran, saying he was a "great American."
