Twitter has come down hard on Jean-Claude Juncker after his comments on the UK's position for Brexit.
Speaking in a conference for EU ambassadors, the president of the European Commission said the papers produced to outline the UK Government's position were not "satisfactory."
London had spent the whole of August compiling a document to clarify its position on key issues such as the border with the Republic of Ireland and the rights of EU nationals.
But Juncker told the ambassadors that, having read the papers, he feels there are still an enormous amount of issues which remain unresolved.
He stressed that negotiations on a new trade relationship will not happen until these key disputes are ironed out.
His comments come after another top EU negotiator, Michel Barnier, called for an end to 'ambiguity' in the UK's position.
