The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have released a photo of their daughter Princess Charlotte to mark her second birthday.
The picture shows Charlotte at Anmer Hall in Norfolk, one of the royal couple's residences. It was reportedly taken by Kate herself.
The image was shared on Twitter via the Kensington Palace Twitter account, which represents the royal family, and soon gained thousands of likes and retweets from fans eager to catch a glimpse of the toddler.
Charlotte is the younger of William and Kate's two children. Her brother, Prince George, turns four in July.
Although William and Kate have taken on several public engagements in recent weeks, including a high-profile speech from the Duke of Cambridge on mental health, the privacy of their children remains fiercely protected, with official photographs providing practically the only means for fans to follow their development.
