William Hague has warned Donald Trump’s threat of “fire and fury” will not deter North Korea.
Tension in the region has been rapidly escalating as the regime in Pyongyang continues its nuclear weapons programme.
More recently, the United States warned of a “massive military response” if North Korea continues to threaten it or its allies, following a recent test which created an earthquake measuring 6.3 on the Richter scale.
Writing in The Telegraph, the former Foreign Secretary warned this would not deter the regime.
He called for both East and West to work together to negate the threat, refuting the US President’s declaration of talking not being the answer.
Pyongyang has said the bomb tested on Sunday was a hydrogen bomb.
