George Galloway believes there is no prospect of peace in the Middle East and Britain's view on Israel is irrelevant, as the whole word has already condemned the Jewish state.

Galloway was speaking to James Max after Israeli leader Benjamin Netanyahu condemned a speech by outgoing US Secretary of State John Kerry, which criticised Israel for its "obsessive" construction of settlements.

Max has been speaking about Israel on his show this morning, asking whether Britain should continue to offer its support.

"Every country from every corner of the world... voted to condemn Israel," Galloway said. "It doesn't really matter if John Bull stands out against it.

"There isn’t going to be any peace in the Middle East or in Israel and Palestine in particular, not in my lifetime [or] in the lifetime of our children, because it’s an irresistible force meeting an immovable object."
