'You cruelly treated us like animals' - Theresa May criticised over mental health announcement

Theresa May has been criticised over mental health

Friday, October 27, 2017

Theresa May has been criticised for her "cruel" treatment of people following tweets from her account about mental health.

The Prime Minister said: "Around 300,000 people with a long term #mentalhealth problem are losing their jobs each year. This is unsustainable, unfair and unjust."

She followed this tweet with: "I can announce today that around 2 million public sector workers will receive unprecedented #mentalhealth support."

Despite the announcement, many have chosen to criticise May as they claim she helped create the problem in the first place.

Whist some have questioned why this move only provides help for those in the public sector, others have said they think a pay rise for the workers would help combat mental health problems in the field.

Some even said mental "anguish and torture" has been caused by Tory "greed and incompetence."
