Zac Goldsmith has been selected by the Conservative party to contest his old seat in Richmond Park.
The former MP resigned the constituency after the Government chose to expand Heathrow Airport over Gatwick with a third runway, which triggered a by-election.
He ran as an independent candidate, but lost to Liberal Democrat candidate Sarah Olney - who went on to endure a nightmare interview with Julia Hartley-Brewer shortly after her win.
Now party leaders have decided he will be welcomed back into the fold as the representative for Richmond Park.
However, questions have been raised about his pro-Brexit stance in comparison to his constituents, who voted to Remain in the European Union last year.
The chairwoman of the constituency, Georgina Butler, said Goldsmith wasn't the 'hardened Brexiteer' his opponents had made him out to be, having led the Government to guarantee the rights of EU nationals.
She made it clear he would continue to fight to represent constituent concerns about the planned third runway at Heathrow airport.
