Former MP Zac Goldsmith has been spotted on Twitter campaigning alongside a Conservative MP who supports the government's decision to expand Heathrow Airport.
Goldsmith resigned his seat in Richmond Park and triggered a by-election in the constituency in protest of the government's plan to expand the airport. He is now running for the seat as an independent candidate.
However his campaign may be hit with unwelcome publicity after he was seen on the campaign trail with Jacob Rees-Mogg, the MP for North East Somerset, who has publicly said that the expansion of Heathrow is "essential for the nation".
