France's equivalent of Jeremy Corbyn is in with a real chance of winning the French Presidential election, according to George Galloway.
Benoit Hamon has been chosen as the Socialist Party candidate in France's presidential election. Meanwhile conservativer challenger Francois Fillon's campaign has been jeopardised by a financial scandal, after claims his wife was paid £710,000 of public money as his assistant.
The talkRADIO presenter said: "The French socialist party has just chosen France’s Jeremy Corbyn, Benoit Hamon, as their candidate.
“Given the crashing and burning of the mainstream Conservative François Fillon... there’s a real chance that Hammon for the left could be contesting with Le Pen.
“There’s a chance he could beat her, we might have a Jeremy Corbyn in the Elysee in Paris and a Jeremy Corbyn in Downing Street in London, wouldn’t that be a fine turnout for the books."
